St Mary’s Church and the Pineapple Project were thrilled that Fr Andrew Walker, vicar of St Mary’s, was awarded the title of Charitable Champion at this year’s annual Belgravia Awards. The award recognised that ‘In times of trouble, a charitable champion is really valued and Father Andrew Walker of St Mary’s is just that.’ Fr Andrew accepted the award on behalf of all those who worked to provide support during the first lockdown, work which has resumed throughout the winter months.
The awards were publicised in Belgravia Magazine and Fr Andrew took the opportunity to raise awareness of the Pineapple Project and its aim in ‘enabling us to offer more to those living in the area who are vulnerable or in need, and helping us respond better in the future to needs and situations that may arise’.
