Today, Gloria Gardner, who has been housekeeper at St Mary’s for the last 15 years, will attend a virtual ceremony held by the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. She has been presented with a Mayor’s Individual Contribution Award in recognition of her work to support the Homeless Community through the spring and winter lockdowns. Gloria has spear-headed the work at St Mary’s, sourcing food and clothing and creating a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together to provide support where it is so desperately and urgently needed. She exemplifies what can be achieved by community action and has helped create a bedrock of local contributors and organisers who we hope will become an integral part of the Pineapple Project once the build-phase is complete.
